The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the decision of the International Criminal Court in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir

Putin

is "just the beginning of the process."

Borrell wrote about this on Twitter.

"The decision of the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin for the war crime of illegal deportation and transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia is the beginning of the process of prosecution. We appreciate and support the work of the International Criminal Court. There can be no impunity," the post reads.

Vladimir Putin's arrest warrant: what is known

The International Criminal Court in The Hague has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin

for the war crime of deporting Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation.

Now the Kremlin

dictator risks being arrested if he visits one of the 123 countries in the world

that is not part of the "circle of friends" of Russia.

In addition to Putin, the court also issued a warrant for the arrest of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova for the "illegal deportation" of Ukrainian children.

The President of the United States of America, Joe

Biden, said that the decision of the Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court to issue a warrant for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin is justified.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Great Britain, Dominic Raab, said that in connection with the decision of the International Criminal Court, it

will be very difficult for Putin to move around the world in the near future, because there are many countries that support the International Criminal Court

, and which have an obligation to arrest the President of Russia .
