The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, said that the decision of the Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court to issue a warrant for the arrest of Russian President

Vladimir Putin

is justified.

CNN writes about it.

"I think it's justified," said the American president.

Joe Biden considers the court's decision "a very strong argument."

The US president also noted that Vladimir Putin "clearly committed war crimes."

We will remind that on March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for the President of Russia,

Vladimir Putin

, and the Russian President's Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.

The court declares that Putin is responsible for the war crime of illegal deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine.

"There are reasonable grounds to believe that Putin bears individual criminal responsibility for the aforementioned crimes and for his inability to exercise proper control over civilian and military subordinates," the ICC said.

Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Oleksiivna Lviva-Belova is also responsible for the deportation of Ukrainian children.

Arrest warrants were issued on the basis of statements submitted by prosecutors of the International Criminal Court on February 22, 2023.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is creating a unit on international law to investigate Russia's war crimes.

It will be formed under the Department of Legal Support.

The unit will assist the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and international institutions.
