Russia is losing up to 1,500 of its troops every day in the war against Ukraine during the current offensive, mostly in Bakhmut.

This was reported by The Guardian with reference to an anonymous high-ranking NATO official.

"Russia is losing 1,200, 1,300 and

even 1,500 soldiers a day

during the current offensive, mainly in Bakhmut. The ratio of killed to wounded is one to three," the Alliance representative said.

At the same time, he noted that Ukrainian troops suffer "an order of magnitude fewer losses" in battles where

"several thousand" shells are spent on both sides per day.

A high-ranking NATO official also said that it is currently unclear how much longer the battle for Bakhmut will last.

Grim, intense fighting continues on the front lines in the city itself along the river, which has become a "killing zone," it said.

We will remind, according to the Institute for the Study of War with the USA, the offensive of the invaders on Bakhmut is reaching its climax.

Evidence of this is the relatively slower pace of Russian attacks, combined with relatively fewer statements by the Russian Federation itself about advancing in the Bakhmut area.

As reported on March 17, Ukrainian fighter-grenade thrower Yuriy Syrotyuk with the call sign "Mamai", the enemy in the Bakhmut direction is moving to partial defense.

And all other operational areas, except for Bakhmutskyi, almost "choked".

At the same time, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, informed on March 17 that the invaders are trying to advance along the entire eastern front line, but the Ukrainian military has partial success in some areas.
