The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued a warrant for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

APA reports that this was stated in the information posted on the website of the Hague court.

It was reported that the ICJ issued a warrant for the arrest of two people - Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova in the context of the war in Ukraine.

It was added that after February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin is responsible for the war crime of illegal deportation of the population (children) from the occupied territories of Ukraine and illegal transfer to Russia.

The statement emphasized that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin bears personal criminal responsibility for the aforementioned crimes.

The court also issued an arrest warrant for Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, Russia's Commissioner for Children's Rights, on similar charges.
