Defender of the Donetsk airport, soldier Serhii Kroytor, died fighting for Ukraine.

Volunteer Anatoliy Svyrid reported on the Hero's death on Facebook.

As it became known, the soldier's life ended near the village of Yampil, Donetsk region.

It is noted that the soldier with the call sign "Hottabych" was a cadre soldier even before the collapse of the USSR, served in the landing forces, and later retired.

The defender worked with designer Mykhailo Voronin from the age of 16, and later opened his own tailoring business.

After the Revolution of Dignity, the Hero defended the rights of Ukrainians on the Maidan and went to the front in the summer of 2014.

In Donbass, Kroytor completed two rotations at the Donetsk airport.

It will be recalled that a 26-year-old special forces officer died in captivity.
