The world is on the brink of the third world war.

According to APA, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said this in his address to the people in Sremska Mitrovica on Friday.

"I am afraid that we are not far from the beginning of World War III," Vučić stressed.

According to the president, he is not sure that Serbia will be able to cope with the consequences of such events.

The head of state emphasized that the goal of the republican government is to "protect its own country", and its job is to save the lives of its people "when hundreds of people die".
