APA reports that Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, who is visiting Ankara, said this at a press conference after his meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"The Turkish Parliament is starting the ratification process. I must emphasize that this is very important for Finland. Our Parliament approved our membership efforts last spring. We also have Sweden as a neighbor, this country has beautiful people, the membership of our good neighbor Finland is not complete without Sweden. We have a lot of common interests. important, I have to make a special mention about the Baltic Sea and our borders, but I would like to see the 32 members of the alliance in Vilnius.

Finland has fulfilled all the obligations we agreed on in Madrid.

Our administration has been in close contact with Turkey, our mutual understanding has strengthened during these months, we have agreed on how to fight terrorism, all these steps have convinced our Turkish friends of our efforts," the Finnish President noted.
