The Quinta de los Molinos Botanical Garden of Havana will open its doors with a new Zona Quinta Inclusion Festival, ecological recreation and learning for all families, on Saturday March 18 and Sunday March 19, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

In this institution of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana, the new edition of the festival is held in the context of the World Day of People with Down Syndrome, which is commemorated every March 21.

As reported by the coordinators, the Quinta expects the presence of artists such as the Nine Duo and the psychoballet group of the Quinta project for Social Inclusion, made up of young people with intellectual disabilities.

As usual, in the different areas of the city garden there will be Interactive Educational Stations for the little ones, with painting, crafts, educational, traditional and sports games;

gardening and hiking.

In addition, there will be ventures dedicated to the preparation of various items with an eco-friendly and sustainable theme, which will make handicrafts, natural cosmetic products, useful household items, handmade toys, textiles, among others, available to the public.

At the same time, gastronomic services and children's attractions will be provided and the Animal Welfare team of La Quinta will be present with a space for the clinical examination of your pets, deworming, nail trimming and ear cleaning.

As a preamble, this Friday, March 17, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Quinta de los Molinos hosts the session "Inclusion, families and disability" a theoretical-practical workshop aimed at families with disabilities, in the framework of the Fifth Zone Festival Inclusion, ecological recreation and learning for all families.

The topics to be worked on are Family and disability: an optimistic view of the problem, by Omar Torres Rodríguez, Ph.D. in Sciences, president of the Psychology and Special Needs Section and president of the Honorary Chair of Disability Studies at the University of Havana.

On social inclusion, current research, socio-educational inclusion project of the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences, by the doctors in Sciences Caridad Surita Cruz and Imilla Campo and the master Yanira Martínez.

This day is an excellent space to share experiences and learn collectively, and mothers, fathers and relatives of people with disabilities participate in it, as well as professionals and students interested in the subject.
