[Reporter Chen Zhengyu/Taipei Report] Lin Changzuo, a non-party legislator, announced today (17) that he will not run for re-election in 2024 due to his family's health.

Zhang Zhihao, Director of the Information Department of the DPP, responded that Lin Changzuo has been rated as a high-quality legislator many times and is the best partner of the DPP. He respects Lin's decision, and the nomination strategy group will be included in the overall evaluation discussion.

Zhang Zhihao said that he respects Lin Changzuo's decision. Lin has been appraised as a high-quality legislator by the Public Governor's League many times. During his tenure, he successfully promoted many progressive bills and won and completed many local constructions.

Zhang Zhihao also mentioned that in response to Lin Changzuo's decision, the DPP's 2024 general election nomination strategy team will be included in the overall assessment discussion.

Lin Changzuo revealed in an interview today that it is not appropriate to procrastinate because of election affairs. He had communicated with the top election officials of the Democratic Progressive Party on the 14th and asked everyone to deploy as soon as possible.

Outside attention, the Democratic Progressive Party Taipei City Councilor Wang Shijian once expressed his intention to run for the legislator of the fifth electoral district (Zhongzheng and Wanhua) in Taipei City.

Lin Changzuo responded that he would support all the candidates recommended by the DPP and the local camp, and he knew Wang Shijian before, and he would participate in each other's activities and campaigns.
