As of February 28, 2023, the expenses of the state social security budget increased by BGN 714.1 million compared to the same period of 2022, the National Social Security Institute (NSI) announced.

For February, the total amount of reported revenues was BGN 1,701.1 million. Revenues were BGN 174.9 million more than in the same period of 2022. Total reported expenses amounted to BGN 3,314.0 million, which is BGN 714.1 million more compared to the same period last year. 

The National Insurance Institute provides every month information on the cash performance of the budgets of the social insurance funds administered by the institute by virtue of legal delegation.

In the structure of total expenses, the largest share is occupied by pension expenses, which amount to BGN 2,980.3 million. Pension expenses are BGN 713.9 million, or 31.5 percent more compared to the same period of 2022. Pensioners for the month of February 2023 are 16,583 less than in February 2022.

The next most important and largest group of expenses in the consolidated budget of the LLC are the expenses for the payment of cash benefits and benefits under the Social Insurance Code, which as of February 28, 2023, amount to BGN 305.8 million. The reported expenses are 5 .2 million BGN less compared to the same period of 2022.

The revenues reported by the National Institute of Education and Culture in the Teachers' Pension Fund as of February 28 amounted to BGN 12.8 million. The revenues received are BGN 1.2 million more than in the same period of 2022. 

In the Fund "Guaranteed Receivables of Workers and Employees", the reported revenues as of February 28 are in the amount of BGN 944.3 thousand. The received revenues are BGN 37.5 thousand more than in the same period of 2022.

The NOI's data on the budget of DOO at the end of January this year showed that the reported revenues were BGN 38.8 million more than the same period of 2022, and expenses were increased by BGN 389.8 million.
