Appeasement of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will not stop hostilities in Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by the Prime Minister

of Ireland,

Leo Varadkar, in

an interview

with The Irish Times.

He noted that many people ask the question of where the Russian dictator can stop?

"The truth is that he will stop where we stop him. Some are calling for pacification. But Russia has already occupied part of Moldova, already occupied part of Georgia, occupied Crimea, which is part of Ukraine," the prime minister said.

He noted that Putin's appeasement will no longer help, which is why the stakes have become so high.

"America, the EU, the free world must say: 'This is a line in the sand that you have crossed.

You've gone too far," Varadkar said.

The Irish Prime Minister also noted that he would also like to see peace in Ukraine, but it will not last long if it is not fair.

Varadkar said that Ukraine should preserve its independence, sovereignty, democratic European path and the right to self-determination.

We will remind, earlier the Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov said that the countries that want to become mediators

between Ukraine and Russia at the negotiating table should first of all be responsible

.

In addition, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said earlier that the "crisis" in Ukraine is "getting out of control."

So he called for "as soon as possible" to start the process of peace negotiations
