The advantages of planting greens in the spring are that they are not picky at all, they are not afraid of frost, they can be grown all year round and it is quite simple to plant.

Parsley

Parsley seeds should be soaked in water for 2-3 days before planting.

This plant should be grown in small bushes, with a distance of at least 15 cm between them.

Put a dozen seeds in a pre-dug small hole.

After that, you need to water the area abundantly with a gradual decrease in the amount of water until the parsley comes off.

Dill

Dill should be planted as early as possible, because it is not afraid of cold weather.

It is planted in bushes with a distance of 10 cm between them and between rows.

Seeds are planted to a depth of 1.5 cm. After a month or two, the greens can be cut without waiting for the umbrellas used in pickling to appear.

Sorrel

Sorrel is a perennial plant.

This plant can be sown three times a year - in early spring, in June-July and in October-November.

The seeds should be planted at a depth of no more than 2 cm. Green leaves can be collected from sorrel already in May.

Basil

Basil is grown through seedlings.

It should be sown in April.

Thus, you will get the first harvest earlier.

As an option, sow in May in a permanent place.

Bushes should be planted at a distance of about 30 cm. Already in July you can start harvesting and continue until September.

Spinach

Spinach is also a frost-resistant plant, so it can be planted even in unheated soil.

Its seeds are laid at a depth of 2-3 cm with an interval of 5-10 cm. You can harvest it four weeks after planting.

Arugula

If you like Mediterranean cuisine, be sure to plant arugula.

Its seeds are sown in open ground in April.

If you decide to plant this plant as a seedling, plant the seeds for seedlings in early March, and plant the seedlings in the soil in April.

The distance between bushes should be kept at 10 cm, between rows - at 30 cm. After planting, arugula should be watered so that the soil is constantly slightly moist, especially in hot months, when arugula should be watered every day.

Coriander and cilantro

These unpretentious aromatic plants, grown for their leaves and seeds, can reproduce by self-sowing.

Coriander and cilantro are frost-resistant, so you can start sowing in April and continue until July.

It is necessary to plant seeds 1 cm apart, with a distance of 10 cm between bushes and 20 cm between rows.

You can harvest from July, and so on until September.

Fennel

Fennel is a demanding plant, it needs a sufficient amount of heat (at least 6 ℃), moisture and light.

You can grow it through seeds or seedlings.

You can plant and harvest fennel every three weeks.

The seeding depth of this plant is 2 cm, the distance between the rows is 60 cm. The greens are cut when they are ripe, and after three months or more, the harvest is harvested from the cobs of 250 g or more. 

Oregano and marjoram

Oregano and marjoram should be grown for adding it to meat dishes and pickling.

It is added to food in small quantities, so it will be enough to plant a couple of bushes, which will be enough for the whole year.

Oregano and marjoram should be sown after the soil has warmed up.

These thermophiles, if grown as seedlings, should be transplanted at the beginning of May.

Plant the seeds 0.5-1 cm into the soil, with a distance of 20 cm. Harvest after 30-40 days from the moment of germination.

Tarhun

Tarragon is a perennial and unpretentious plant.

You don't need a lot of it, so plant 1-2 bushes.

Do it in the months from May to October.

Seeds must be sown in open ground.

The distance between the bushes should be 30 by 70 cm. The first sprigs of tarragon can be collected already 2 months after the emergence of seedlings from June to October.

Melissa

Melissa is also an unpretentious perennial plant that can grow by self-seeding.

In May, seeds are planted at a distance of 30 cm in a row and 60 cm between rows.

In the first year, the crop is harvested 2 months after the emergence of seedlings.

In the second and subsequent years, lemon balm is harvested from June to October.

Garden mint

Garden mint is a cold-resistant plant, it grows quickly in the spring and is planted from April to June in furrows 20 cm deep. The seeds are planted at a distance of 60 cm. After 1-2 weeks, expect the seeds to sprout, and after another 2 months, the leaves can already be collected .

Leaf mustard

Leaf mustard is unpretentious to the cold, so it should be grown as soon as the snow melts.

This plant must be thinned after emergence so that the distance between the stalks is 5-10 cm. After ripening, mustard is collected for three weeks.
