During 2022, the liquid assets of banks increased by 24% or 3.3 billion manats and reached 17.2 billion manats.

"APA-Economics" reports with reference to the "Financial Stability" report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan that the share of liquid assets in total assets increased by 0.5% percentage point and reached 36.6%.

It should be noted that 31% of liquid assets are government securities, 29% are nostro accounts, 29% are correspondent accounts with the Central Bank, and 11.4% are concentrated in cash.

Liquid assets of the banking system exceed the demand deposits of individuals more than 3 times and cover 88% of the demand deposits of legal entities.

It should be recalled that during the year, the volume of state securities kept as liquid assets increased by 81% and amounted to 5.4 billion manats, and the specific weight of liquid assets increased by 10 percentage points.
