According to the mythology related to Hanuman Jayanti, an Apsara named Anjani was born on earth due to a curse and this curse could end only after the birth of her son.

Bajrangbali's father Kesari and mother Anjani kept wishing for a child for 12 years, after which after worshiping Lord Shiva, their lap could be filled.
