A sudden change in the weather - temperatures have dropped, and in some places there is precipitation of rain and snow. 

"Rain and snow will continue throughout the day. In the northeastern parts in the afternoon, at night and in the Upper Thracian plain, the rain will temporarily change to snow. No permanent snow cover will be created. There will be more snowfall with lingering snow cover in the mountains. The snow is spring, heavy and will not contribute to improving the good conditions for white sports lovers," said forecaster Petar Yankov on the air of "Bulgaria morning".

Rainfall amounts at the end of the day will be around a maximum of 10-12 liters per square meter in the southern and eastern parts of the country.

In the rest of the regions in the west - up to 5-6 liters per square meter.

"Daytime temperatures in the capital will reach only 4-5 degrees, in the extreme southern regions - 11-12, and along the Black Sea - 9-10 degrees. The decrease is about 5 degrees from the climatic norms for March," Yankov told Bulgaria ON AIR .

Temperatures start to rise on Saturday.

"With temperatures reaching 19 degrees in the southern parts of the country, the meteorological spring will overtake the astronomical spring by one or two days, but both astronomical and meteorological spring will finally part with winter on Tuesday," commented the forecaster.

He stressed that

"Spring is actively coming. The sun is already at a greater angle and it will easily warm up. It will quickly repel the cold air that also covered Greece. It will be mostly sunny along the Mediterranean. Our compatriots who will go south will enjoy spring temperatures of the order of 19-20 degrees. Those who will travel to the west will have more dynamic weather, although warm with frequent precipitation and strong winds," Yankov also said.
