The battalion commander of the 46th separate airmobile brigade, Anatoliy "Kupola", was demoted after an interview with The Washington Post newspaper.

He spoke of losses among the most experienced warriors and doubted the possibility of a successful counterattack.

The editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian bureau of The Washington Post, Izabel Khurshudyan, writes about this on Twitter.

Isabel Khurshudyan stated that "Kupol" understood the risks of disclosing this information, but still agreed to the conversation.

"I spoke with Kupol. Faced with a transfer to another position, he decided to leave his post. A very unfortunate development of events for an experienced commander who advocated positive changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the journalist wrote.

An update on Kupol, the battalion commander who candidly told us about his frustration with poor training of newly mobilized troops and ammo shortages:

He was removed from his position of battalion commander in the 46th brigade because of his interview with us.

Interlocutors of "Ukrainian Pravda" in the 46th brigade reported that "Kupola" was transferred from the position of commander of the combat battalion to the position of deputy commander of the battalion of the training center.

After that, he wrote a report on dismissal.

Earlier, The Washington Post published an article about the losses of experienced soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Russia's war against Ukraine.

Journalists noted that this could affect the contrast.

"The most valuable thing in war is combat experience. A soldier who has survived half a year of combat and a soldier who has come from the training ground are two different soldiers. This is heaven and earth. And there are very few soldiers who have combat experience. Unfortunately, everyone they are already dead or wounded," the battalion commander of the 46th Airborne Assault Brigade with the call sign "Kupol" told reporters.

Instead, Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military-political columnist of the "Information Resistance" group, said that The Washington Post's material on the allegedly unsatisfactory state of the Ukrainian forces today can be called "ISPish or unprofessional."
