China will never begin to pursue hegemony and external expansion regardless of its level of development, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a high-level video conference forum with the participation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and political parties from around the world. , TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

"China's modernization will empower only those forces that stand up for international justice. No matter what level of development the People's Republic of China reaches, it will not seek hegemony and external expansion," he said.

"The world does not need a new Cold War. Actions to incite confrontations and divisions in the name of democracy are in themselves a violation of the spirit of democracy. They will not receive support and can only cause endless harm," the Chinese leader stressed .

"China follows the right path of peaceful development, we strive to settle differences through dialogue and resolve disputes through cooperation. We resolutely oppose hegemony and all forms of force-based policies," Xi said.

Xi stressed that the CCP is ready to deepen its cooperation with political parties and organizations in other countries to achieve greater convergence of ideas and interests, China's Xinhua news agency added.
