The Kremlin said today that relations with the United States are in a "sad state" and at their lowest level, after Washington accused Moscow of shooting down an American reconnaissance drone over the Black Sea, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there had been no high-level contact with Washington over the incident, but that Russia would never refuse to engage in constructive dialogue.

A Russian fighter jet collided with an American drone over the Black Sea

The US military said yesterday that a Russian fighter jet struck the propeller of its spy drone in international airspace over the Black Sea, causing the unmanned aerial vehicle to fall into the sea.

Russia has denied this, suggesting the drone crashed due to "abrupt maneuvering".
