The European Union (EU) finalized the agreement on the supply of shells worth 2 billion euros as part of military assistance to Ukraine.

APA informs that "Politico" publication reported this with reference to the documents obtained.

According to the publication, for sending missiles to Ukraine and buying new ones, the EU countries will receive financial support in the amount of 1 billion euros for each operation (both for sending missiles and for obtaining new ammunition).

It is expected that with joint efforts, EU countries will be able to buy ammunition at a cheaper price by concluding larger contracts.

It was noted that the EU has so far supplied Ukraine with about 350,000 155 mm projectiles.

The cost of each new projectile is estimated at 4,000 euros, and a total of 450 million euros have been spent by the EU to partially cover the costs of ammunition supplying countries.
