A part of the Chirag Delhi flyover will remain closed for 25 days from March 12.

Heavy traffic jams were witnessed in some parts of South Delhi on Monday due to the partial closure of the Chirag Delhi flyover on the Outer Ring Road for repairs, leaving commuters stranded for hours.

Delhi Police said that their helpline received several calls regarding the heavy traffic jam near the flyover.

The repair of the Chirag Delhi flyover started on Sunday and it will take about 25 days to repair the one-way road.

The traffic police said that first one side of the road will be closed for repairs, while the other side will remain operational.

Then the second part will be closed and the traffic on the first will be started.

Officials said traffic on some routes in South Delhi will be affected as a portion of the Chirag Delhi flyover will remain closed for 25 days from March 12.

According to the advisory issued by the traffic police, the repair work of the road from Nehru Place to IIT flyover has been started first.
