Dehradun:

The Uttarakhand cabinet has announced to give 10 percent reservation in government jobs to those agitating for the formation of the state.

Along with this, it was decided on Monday to increase the MLA Area Development Fund from Rs.3.75 crore to Rs.5 crore.

Uttarakhand was formed in November 2000.

Earlier there were agitations regarding its formation.

Official sources said that in the cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it was also decided to give Rs 40 lakh instead of Rs 25 lakh to Mahila Mangal Dals consisting of local women working as sports coaches.

The cabinet has also approved the new solar energy policy of the state. 

Apart from this, constitution of an Authority on Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement headed by a District Judge or an Additional District Judge in each district has also been approved.

The state cabinet also approved the allotment of 8.69 hectares of land in Pithoragarh to the 7th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
