Half a year after the disaster in Karlovsko, the state grants an additional BGN 2,500 each to the victims of the flooded villages of Bogdan, Karavelovo and Slatina.

The financial support will go to the people whose homes were affected by the great flood on September 2 last year.

People continue to repair the damage themselves.

All affected households received BGN 375 in one-time aid from the state.

396 families in the three villages also received funds from the donation campaign.

But these funds proved insufficient.

The mayor of the municipality of Karlovo, Emil Kabaivanov, said that the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Lazar Lazarov, issued an order to the "Social Protection Fund", which gives the opportunity to all victims, confirmed by a decision of the Municipal Council, to apply for additional financial support in the amount of up to BGN 2,500.

Applicants must meet 4 conditions: the property must be legally built, they have received the initial aid of BGN 375, the dwelling must be the only one, they must have a monthly income of "social minimum" - BGN 504 per family member, Kabainavov added.

The documents are submitted to the Municipality of Karlovo, explained the mayor.

He indicated that money will not be given, but invoices for household equipment and home furnishings will be paid.

The mayor also explained what actions were taken to restore the villages after the floods.

He indicated that people will also receive the promised 1,200 cubic meters of wood - 4 cubic meters per family.

The mayor pointed out that the riverbeds have been cleaned and there is no risk to the lives of the people in the three villages.

The infrastructure will continue to be restored, according to the funding, Kabaynavov added.
