Iran's judicial authorities pardoned 22,000 people who took part in anti-government demonstrations.

APA reports that the head of Iran's justice system, Gulamhossein Mohsini Ajei, said this in a statement to IRNA.

"So far, 82,000 people have been pardoned, including 22,000 people who participated in the protests," Ejei said.

It should be noted that Iran's state media reported early last month that religious leader Ali Khamenei pardoned "tens of thousands" of prisoners, including some arrested during protests.

It should be recalled that in September of last year, after the death of a young Iranian Kurdish woman under the control of the country's morality police, Iran was engulfed in protests.
