Iliana Malinova Yotova is a Bulgarian politician, the 5th Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, she welcomed the 2 winners of the "Ambassador for a Day" initiative of the British Embassy in Sofia to "Dondukov".

Yotova introduced her activities to Esperanza Naydenova from Valchedrum, Ipek Köseibiš from Ruse, Nia Georgieva from Pernik.

The girls shared their views on a wide range of issues, from equality between men and women to the war in Ukraine.

The competition, created six years ago by the former British ambassador to Bulgaria Emma Hopkins on the occasion of International Women's Day, encourages Bulgarian girls to express their views on issues of importance to society and to develop their potential.

Since its beginning, "Ambassador for a Day" has been held under the patronage of Vice President Yotova.

The theme of this year's edition of the competition was "Embracing Equality".

The question, on which aspirants aged 14 to 18 wrote an essay within 250 words, was: If you were an ambassador for a day, how would you promote equality between women and men in Bulgaria? 

The winners participated in the daily work of Vice President Yotova and British Ambassador Rob Dixon.

They met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Velislava Petrova, with representatives of UNICEF and the "Animus" Association.

The winners also met with the ambassadors of Ireland, Albania, Finland and Pakistan.

They had a training course on leadership skills, the press office of the presidency announced.
