It is estimated that 11.8 hectares of new landscaping and landscaping will be planted in 20 townships and cities in the county this year. Taiwan's native tree species that are salt-tolerant and drought-resistant include Trichosanthes, Grouper, Pittosporum, and Orchid Island Podocarpus.

Today's tree planting activities throughout the territory were jointly made by Zhang Lishan, the county magistrate, Li Zhengxian, director of the Nantou Forest Management Division of the Forestry Bureau, Wu Jinwei, the mayor of Sihu Township, and many township representatives and village chiefs in Sihu.

Li Zhengxian pointed out that it is suitable for tree planting after the beginning of spring on February 4 every year, especially March is the tree planting month. Today, the tree planting site is in the coastal area. The Forest Service provides all the tree species suitable for coastal planting. In addition, the Forest Service has planted more than 100 trees on the coastline in the past three years. 34 hectares, and 200,000 seedlings are also provided to the Fourth River Bureau to plant in coastal areas, about 66 hectares can be planted, and about 100 hectares of trees have been planted for dust control.

Zhang Lishan said that global warming is serious. In response to Taiwan's 2050 net zero emission goal, Yunlin launched the "Carbon Reduction Life Action Year" plan this year, encouraging villagers to choose a low-carbon life from daily life such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, and shopping. At the same time, start tree planting throughout the territory, increase forests to play a role in carbon sequestration, plant suitable tree species in each township according to the environment and location, and build Cloud Forest into a garden city.

Wei Shengde, Director of Agriculture of the county government, said that the tree species planted throughout the territory are based on the mountain, sea line environment, and climatic conditions. Taiwan’s native tree species are selected. Wax trees; sea-lines include mahogany, Lanyu podocarpus, ivory wood, thick-leaved grouper wood, etc.
