Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the Dagger missiles in Russia were created to strike at "decision-making centers", but due to a lack of weapons, the occupiers began to use them to strike transformers.

He said this on March 12 on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

Ignat noted that the Armed Forces do not yet have anti-aircraft systems capable of shooting down these missiles.

"Dagger" is an aeroballistic missile.

That is, she does not need to climb up on her own, spend fuel on it, etc.

The MiG-31K fighter lifts the Dagger into the upper atmosphere, where the air is thinner, which means less resistance for the missile.

So, gaining enormous speed, it flies down on a ballistic trajectory.

This makes it invulnerable to our air defenses.

Will the Dagger be able to shoot down the Patriot PAC-3 anti-aircraft missile system?

It is necessary to look at practice," he said.

The spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces noted that this missile is a serious weapon, but there are no more than 50 of them in the Russian Federation.

"They saved them for extreme cases of defeat, for example, the decision-making center, etc. But, as we can see, transformers became one of their important targets," said the soldier.

Yuriy Ignat emphasized that the shelling of Ukraine on the night of March 9 was solely for the purpose of propaganda: to show the Russians and dictator Putin that "Ukraine is on fire again."

Massive missile attack on Ukraine on March 9

On March 9, 2023, Russian terrorists staged a massive missile attack on Ukraine.

The occupiers launched 81 rockets on the territory of our country, among which were Daggers, which are rare in the Russian Federation.

One of the terrorists' rockets fell on the territory of a village in the Zolochiv district of the Lviv region.

5 people died at the scene of the tragedy.

The occupiers also shelled Kyiv, Kharkiv and other regions of Ukraine.

Because of this, there were again problems with electricity in some areas.
