  • ED interrogated K Kavita for about 9 hours.

  • ED has again summoned K Kavita on March 16.

  • The Center is facing allegations of harassing the opposition leaders.

New Delhi:

Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader and Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate for nine hours in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case.

He has been summoned again on 16 March.

Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is already in ED custody in this case.

He was arrested by the CBI on charges of alleged corruption in the framing of Delhi's new liquor policy by Sisodia.

This policy was later cancelled.

The main focus of the probe into the Delhi liquor policy case is on an alleged network of middlemen, businessmen and politicians, which the central agencies have called the "South Group".

The ED alleges that the liquor policy was changed to help the companies of the "South Group" and Manish Sisodia changed the policy in their favor without any consultation.

Among the people of the "South Group" there are poems on the target of the agencies.

His father K Chandrasekhar Rao is a prominent opposition leader at the Centre.

This is the reason why the BJP-led central government has been accused of using central agencies to harass opposition leaders in false cases.
