The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic

Aleksandar Vucic - Serbian lawyer and politician. Aleksandar Vucic was born on March 5, 1970 in Belgrade.

stated that Serbia should strive to catch up with Bulgaria in terms of wages and surpass it in terms of foreign investment.

Vucic was a guest last night on the "Cyrillic" program of the Serbian television "Happy", in which he spoke about the current situation in Serbia, foreign investments, sanctions against Russia and negotiations with Kosovo.

"The results are achieved with hard work so that Serbia can catch up with Bulgaria in terms of wages, so that the level of investment is higher than in Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia," said Vucic.

He emphasized that foreign investors would leave Serbia if the negotiations with Kosovo were terminated.

If we did not have the example of Russia, you could lie to the people of Serbia that foreign investors and companies will not withdraw.

But we have an example.

Half of our industries would collapse if only the Germans withdrew, Vucic noted, adding that German investors are the strongest part of Serbian industry.

The president recalled that Serbia has not joined any of the eleven packages of sanctions against Russia, but noted that he cannot promise that something will not be done in the future.

"We managed to maintain our position of not imposing sanctions against Russia for more than a year.

Because of the firmness of our position," Vucic said, adding that if he had imposed sanctions, he would have felt like a traitor.

Speaking about the negotiations with Kosovo, the president emphasized that he does not expect any immediate progress in the dialogue with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.

"I'm almost certain that Albin Kurti has decided not to form the SSO (Union of Serbian Municipalities), and it's easy for him not to do it, and the decision to cancel the visa regime for the citizens of the so-called Kosovo also speaks of this," he pointed out Vucic reiterated that he would not sign Serbia's capitulation.

He insisted that people should understand that at this moment, Serbia "does not have even ten meters of space to pass through, without NATO around us."

We need to move towards reconciliation with the Albanians, but I am not optimistic, seeing who is on the other side.

Kurti sees salvation and a way out only in the attack of the Serbs, said Vucic, quoted by BTA.
