Russian troops are preparing for a new attack on Vugledar.

However, they continue to have problems with personnel and ammunition.

This was announced by analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The new report says that servicemen of the 136th OMSR Brigade of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District applied to the command for additional artillery ammunition.

According to analysts, they will replace the 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces, which suffered a crushing defeat at Vugledar.

Analysts are sure that such a replacement will not help Russia achieve offensive success.

In particular, in their appeal, the occupiers from the 136th motorized rifle brigade stated that they needed to protect their artillery ammunition.

"It is unlikely that the 136th motorized rifle brigade will be able to achieve a tactical offensive near Vugledar, which the 155th marine infantry brigade, 40th marine infantry brigade and other Russian units could not achieve," the report says.

In addition, analysts said, the attack on Vugledar generally promises little benefit for Russian forces.

Thus, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the commander of the Eastern Military District, Colonel General Rustam Muradov, to take Vugledar.

However, Muradov will need new reserves of manpower and equipment to carry out the instructions, and the replacement of the 155th Marine Brigade with the 136th Motorized Rifle Brigade is not a necessary reinforcement for a successful offensive.

"It is still unclear whether Shoigu has decided to provide Muradov with the necessary resources to resume the offensive, but Muradov may decide that he needs to resume offensive operations to demonstrate his competence," the analysts said.

The situation in Bakhmut

The Russian army does not stop trying to take Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

The occupiers are constantly attacking Ukrainian military positions and shelling the city.

Earlier it became known that the soldiers of the Russian army are trying

to surround Bakhmut,

they want to enter the city from the north, in the area of Krasna Gora, Yagidna, Berkhivka settlements, and from the south, where Ivanovske is located.

The military says that all attempts by the Russian army to surround

Bakhmut

 in Donetsk region are futile.

Analysts believe that Russia may be preparing for another offensive in the region

Bakhmut

in Donetsk region, but hardly has the striking power capable of a breakthrough.

Heavy armored vehicles in the Bakhmut area will be difficult to use until the end of March.

Warming will make it difficult to move through the area.

In addition, according to analysts, the occupiers have changed their tactics in

Bakhmut.
