Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced Tuesday that the country's navy will be armed with Kalibr cruise missiles as well as state-of-the-art navigation systems.

Shoigu specified that the possibilities for ensuring timely deliveries for the Kronstadt nuclear submarine and its introduction into the combat composition of the Navy of the Russian Federation will be studied.

Project 677 Lada submarines belong to the fourth generation of diesel-electric submarines.

Their displacement on the surface is about 1.75 thousand tons, while under water they can reach a speed of up to 21 knots.

They are equipped with "Caliber" missiles, and their crew can reach up to 35 people.
