"Yesterday and today we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews from the Holocaust. It is an event that is not well known in the public or has been forgotten in recent years, but it is an event that the Jews themselves say is a spiritual awakening and the spiritual memory of humanity. This is their high assessment, and it is such because the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and Bulgarian lawyers are the driving force in this event," said lawyer Elka Porominska in the "Day ON AIR" studio.

According to her, the opinion of many Israeli citizens is that this is the work of the people, but not of the state, because at that time it passed the Law for the Protection of the Nation.

"The Bulgarian has shown his humanity, his lack of any prejudices regarding who he is, what religion he professes. In the center of Sofia, in a triangle, there are 3 very large temples of 3 different religions, which says what kind of people we are and we should be proud", Porominska was categorical to Bulgaria ON AIR.

According to her, tolerance has been preserved in our country, regardless of how difficult it is for us and what daily problems we have.

"We are divided, but in difficult, difficult moments we are like a big fist. I hope we don't fall into such situations soon to prove that we are a nation. The division is a priority of our politicians," Porominska added.

"The judicial system works, but it is very busy and the biggest problem is its slowness, and it stems from many shortcomings in funding, providing enough good personnel. It is not normal for a person to get justice after 5, 10, 15 years or more ", commented Porominska.

She believes that the problem with the Attorney General is imported and not so important to ordinary people, and even to those who will be prosecuted or come under the power of the prosecutor.

"For me, it is a problem that a barrier has been put in front of citizens to have protection from the Supreme Court, which is dependent on whether the lawyer will be able to write something like a scientific work on the topic of the case," noted Porominska.

Her opinion is that even if the laws change, Bulgaria has good legislation, but each change leads to a new complication and to a new judicial practice, a new addition from the Supreme Court, according to his point of view.

"Violence is not only our painful topic. Here the question is raised with the Istanbul Convention, which was signed, but there is no way to ratify it. The problem with the Istanbul Convention and with violence is that it was not well read or was not well translated "Porominska pointed out.

"The problem is again in financing, in creating centers where such injured persons can turn, be protected, be separated from the abuser, the abuser will receive retribution for what he has done," added the lawyer.
