CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has said that starting next Monday, it will appoint five sector ministers to deal with the concerns of the people of Singida and Manyara regions.

CCM Secretary General, Daniel Chongolo named the sectors as water, construction and transport, natural resources and tourism, health and agriculture.

Chongolo has said that on Monday next week he will start calling the ministers of the relevant ministries, including the water ministry, because the people have complained about the lack of clean water.

He also said that citizens have complained about the bad condition of the Arusha-Kiteto-Kongwa road.

In addition, Chongolo said the problem of food shortages, lack of health facilities, medicines and medical equipment and other problems raised by the people and need answers.

"I have been to many regions, the problems are many, the citizens are having problems, some of them who have been given authority do not go down to solve them, now next week I will start with the ministers of those sectors, I will meet with them and give me answers," he said

Yesterday when he was on his way from Simanjiro district to Kiteto, Chongolo's caravan was stopped by the people of Ndaleta Ward and Village and they complained about animals especially elephants destroying crops in the field.

The representative of the citizens, Jumaa Bakari said they are tired of elephants invading their areas from Indema Park under the Wildlife Reserve Association (WMA) in Kiteto district in Manyara region.

He said that in 2021, the village made an assessment to pay compensation for the damage caused by elephants and the names of the people whose fields were destroyed went to the relevant authorities and last year they came back and they were asked to send their National Identification Numbers (NIDA) so that the money would be released but so far nothing has been done and elephants are still a nuisance.

They mentioned another challenge in the reserve is the harassment of the people who were beaten and their fields confiscated despite the regional leaders allowing them to do agricultural activities.

He said that it is more than nine years now that they are not doing agricultural activities in their areas, so they are unable to produce and get money to educate them and raise the income of their families.

The Head of Manyara Region, Makongoro Nyerere admitted that there is a problem with elephants and there is a secondary school in the area where elephants enter the dormitories.

Member of Parliament for Simanjiro, Christopher Ole Sendeka, urged the people to continue to trust the party because it will address their concerns.
