A resident of Odesa was sentenced to 5 years in prison for selling non-existent equipment to the Ukrainian military through social networks.

of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

In court, the prosecution proved that the woman joined one of the volunteer groups in the social network.

There, she looked for an announcement about the search for necessary military equipment for Ukrainian soldiers and offered her goods.

The attacker promised to send the goods after transferring the money to the specified card.

After receiving the money, she did not send any goods because she had nothing.

In this way, the perpetrator received 50,000 hryvnias on her card for the "sale of two night vision devices and eight radio stations."

The woman spent the money on her own needs.

"According to the public indictment of the prosecutors of the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa, a resident of Odesa was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years in prison for fraud using electronic computing equipment," the prosecutor's office reported.
