New Delhi :

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has indirectly targeted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

He said that it is a false propaganda and an insult to the country to say from foreign soil that the mike is switched off in the Indian Parliament.

He also said that at a time when India has the proud moment of chairing the 'G20', 'the tarnishing of the image of Indian democracy and constitutional units by a Parliamentarian cannot be accepted' and that in this regard Can't deviate from our constitutional duty.

Dhankhar called upon the people to expose such forces and make them fail.

The Vice President did not take the name of Rahul Gandhi.

Jagdeep Dhankhar was speaking on the occasion of the release of a book based on Mundak Upanishad by senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Karan Singh.

It is noteworthy that on Monday, Rahul Gandhi told British MPs in the Parliament Complex in London that the mikes for the opposition in India's Lok Sabha are often 'silenced'.

Rahul Gandhi also shared the experiences of the Congress's "Bharat Jodo Yatra" in a program organized by Indian-origin MP Virendra Sharma of the opposition Labor Party in the Grand Committee Room of the House of Commons.

Gandhi termed this yatra as a "deep political exercise to unite the public". Bharatiya Janata Party also made sharp attacks on Rahul Gandhi for his statement.

We are the most active democracy in the world

Rajya Sabha Chairman Dhankhar said that today we are the most active democracy in the world.

He said, “India is in Amritkal and has influenced the global discourse on many issues.

All Indians are happy that the country is rising like never before.

We are definitely on our way towards 2047.

Dhankhar said, "How strange it is, how sad it is that while the world is acknowledging our historical achievements and vibrant democracy, some of us, including parliamentarians, are engaged in eroding the rich democratic values." He said that the discussion is being fabricated beyond the facts.

How can we justify it, he asked?

People are tarnishing the image of India's Parliament outside the country.

The Vice President said, “Look at the time... This is false propaganda.

When it is a proud moment for India, it is chairing the G20.

The people of the country who are outside the country are tarnishing the image of the Parliament and constitutional units of India, this is very serious and unacceptable.

The Vice-President said that if he remains silent on the false propaganda of any MP outside the country, it would be contrary to his constitutional capacity and oath.

He said, “How can this statement be accepted that mikes are switched off in the Indian Parliament….” Dhankhar said, “There is a dark chapter in our political history when the Emergency was imposed. ..Now the Indian political system has matured, it (Emergency) can never be repeated." He said that it is an insult to the nation to say inside and outside the country that mikes are switched off in the Indian Parliament.

Expose these forces

The Vice President said, "I call upon all people to stand up, expose and fail these forces." I don't, but I believe in constitutional duty." He said that he is not afraid and if he remains silent, many people will adopt silence.

Dhankhar said, "Which country in the world can say that it has such a multi-layered and vibrant democracy?"

Indirectly referring to some of the remarks made by Rahul Gandhi in the context of the judiciary, he said that where is such a judiciary where there are so many learned people. He also targeted the MPs who disrupted Parliament and shouted slogans. Dhankhar said, "There was no disturbance in the meeting of the Constituent Assembly and no one came near the seat, from there a magnificent document (constitution) was given." Give a new direction

The Vice President said, "We have to ensure that the world sees our Parliament as a more disciplined and robust forum for discussion."
