According to preliminary data for 2022, the GDP per employee will increase in real terms by 2.1 percent compared to the previous year, the National Statistical Institute announced.

Employed in the economy are 3,502.1 thousand, and the total number of hours worked is 5,668.9 million.

The structure of employment by economic sector in 2022 compared to 2021 shows an increase in the relative share in the service sector and a decrease in the relative share in the agricultural sector.

Bulgaria's GDP for 2022 increases by 3.4 percent compared to 2021

One employee accounts for BGN 47,224.4 of the current gross domestic product (GDP), with each employee creating an average of BGN 29.2 GDP per hour worked. 

In 2022, the gross added value (GVA) per employed person increases in real terms by 2.2 percent, and per man-hour worked increases in real terms by 2.2 percent.

According to preliminary data for 2022, the level of labor productivity in the industrial sector is BGN 49,124.1 gross added value on average per employee and BGN 29.6 per man-hour worked.

In the service sector, each employed person produces an average of BGN 41,535.6 GST, and an average of BGN 25.2 of the current volume of the indicator is created for one man-hour worked.

Labor productivity is the lowest in the agricultural sector - BGN 13,323.4 per employee and BGN 9.2 per man-hour worked.
