[Reporter Weng Yuhuang/New Taipei Report] New Taipei City's first AI artificial intelligence resource recycling subdivision and sorting plant "New Taipei City Resource Recycling Education Base" has been in trial operation since September last year, and it is in operation today. The new plant uses innovative sorting technology , after the automatic conveyor belt is combined with manual preliminary sorting, the optical sorter is used to sort plastics and paper, and the magnetic separator is used to quickly sort iron-made materials. It can handle about 2,500 tons of materials a year.

Shen Zhixiu, deputy director of the Environmental Protection Agency, and Liu Heran, deputy mayor of New Taipei City, visited the base located in Wuguxia Greenland. The base uses automation equipment and AI technology to transform and upgrade the labor-intensive resource recycling work, which can reduce the workload of manual classification. Handle 12,000 tons of household recyclables in Wugu, Sanchong, and Luzhou to alleviate the garbage problem brought about by the population growth and economic boom in New Taipei City.

According to the Environmental Protection Bureau, manual sorting is used for traditional resource collection operations, which requires a large area, intensive labor, and environmental maintenance is not easy. The "New Taipei City Resource Recycling Education Base" uses innovative sorting technology in the factory building, with automatic conveyor belts and manual labor. After preliminary sorting, the optical sorter is used to sort plastics and paper, and the magnetic separator is used to quickly sort iron and other materials. It is equipped with the "FIH ROBOTICS Intelligent Recycling System" jointly developed by FIH Group (FIH) and Dafeng Environmental Protection. robot".

During the trial operation, it was originally equipped with only one first-generation AI intelligent sorting arm to distinguish paper and paper containers. Now it has been upgraded to the second generation after it is officially launched. Not only has the number increased to four, but it is more powerful and can identify paper. 17 types of materials, such as food, paper containers, plastic and iron and aluminum cans, and even different plastic materials that are difficult to distinguish with the naked eye, such as PET, PP, PS, HDPE, LDPE, and different colors can be accurately distinguished; while the 4 arms simultaneously In operation, at least 220 items can be grabbed per minute, and about 2,500 tons of assets can be processed a year, which greatly improves the efficiency of asset collection and resource reuse.
