[Reporter Lin Huiqin/Report from Taipei] The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today that there were 10,816 new cases of local Wuhan pneumonia (new coronavirus disease, COVID-19), an increase of 9.2% from last Tuesday; 34 new deaths; overseas 222 new cases were imported.

However, last Tuesday was the last day of the holiday, so it is judged that the downward trend of the epidemic situation remains unchanged, and there is a chance that the number of cases will fall below 10,000 in the next few days.

Compared with the 9,908 local cases last Tuesday, today's 10,816 cases showed a significant increase. Luo Yijun, spokesman of the command center, said that the main reason is that last Tuesday was the last day of the 228 consecutive holidays, which was affected by the delayed effect of public screening and reporting. .

According to statistics from the command center, since 2020, a total of 10,123,157 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 18,282 deaths have been reported in China.
