County Mayor Zhou Chunmi said that larvae are one of the important farming industries in Taiwan, and Pingtung is the main production area. At present, the aquaculture area of ​​larvae in the county is about 399 hectares, accounting for 80% of the country, and the annual output value is about NT$1.63 billion. The government has implemented measures to adjust the production and sales of larvae, providing a purchase subsidy of 10 yuan per kilogram. In order to ensure the food safety of the projected larvae, fishermen participating in the incentive measures can send the larvae to the inspection center through the Fishermen’s Association of Linbian District and the Fishermen’s Association of Fangliao District for inspection. The inspection items are malachite green and its metabolites (including crystal violet) , multiple synthetic antibacterial agents (48 multiple animal drug residues), nitrofuran metabolites, and the county government shall fully bear the cost.

The county government stated that in order to implement the source production management of farmed aquatic products, encourage farmers to submit their own inspections, and continue to launch the "Self-Management Plan for the Promotion of Animal Drugs for Farmed Aquatic Products", assist fishermen to strengthen pre-marketing and pre-export inspections to reduce drug residues, In order to reduce the burden of fisherman's inspection fees, fishermen only need to pay 40% of the inspection fee for each inspection, and the county government subsidizes 60% of the inspection fee.
