North Korea has said that any attempt by other countries to shoot down one of its missiles during a test launch would be considered a declaration of war.

This was announced by the sister of the leader of the DPRK, Kim Yo-jong, Reuters informs.

She noted that North Korea may launch more missiles into the Pacific Ocean.

"Kim Yo-jong, sister of leader Kim Jong-un, warned in a statement that Pyongyang would see it as a 'declaration of war' if the US resorted to military action against North Korea's strategic weapons tests," the report said.

As the newspaper writes, the United States and its allies have never shot down North Korea's ballistic missiles.

However, the issue has drawn international attention as North Korea has suggested it will conduct more missile tests over Japan.

Kim Jong-un's sister also noted that joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea are contributing to rising tensions.

In addition, on Friday, March 3,

the United States and South Korea

announced the largest military exercises in the last five years.

They will take place in the coming weeks.
