On March 6, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, within the framework of his participation in the Fifth UN Conference on Least Developed Countries.

APA reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released information about this.

At the beginning of the meeting, J. Bayramov congratulated his Ghanaian colleague on the occasion of the country's national day and wished progress, peace and tranquility to the friendly people of Ghana.

Later, the parties exchanged views on issues included in the agenda of cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms and discussed potential directions of future cooperation.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, as one of the current non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, informed his colleague from Ghana about the process of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations in the post-conflict period, as well as the current security situation in the region.

It was stated that the ongoing military provocations of the Armenian side, including the incident on March 5, once again show that this country is not interested in achieving lasting peace in the region and establishing relations based on mutual respect with Azerbaijan.

Issues of cooperation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement were also discussed at the meeting.

Emphasizing the active participation of Ghana in the activities of the National Assembly as one of the founding states of the movement, the counterpart was informed about the Summit Meeting of the Contact Group of the National Assembly on the fight against COVID-19, which took place in Baku a few days ago, and its results.

During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
