"I in no way believe that a person's choice is to die in war. I mean that Ukrainians consciously choose Ukraine and the desire to fight for it, which, unfortunately, leads to the death of its best children," explained the comedian .

Shchegel also commented on a video in which he called Ukraine a "fucking circus with drunk morons."

According to Andriy, his words were a reaction to hate on the Internet.

"I in no way disrespect all Ukrainians. The last video of my emotional and impulsive speech, scattered on the Internet and taken out of context, is just my angry and helpless reaction to the endless messages to me, my loved ones and friends with threats of violence and murder for several days, which just drive you crazy. I apologize to everyone who suffered a lot because of the scandal involving me," the comedian commented.

Shchegel also complained about the haters.

He stated that he only wanted to be honest with users.

He also added that he is not an enemy of Ukrainians.

"Provocation is the work of a comedian. But, unfortunately, finding enemies and hunting witches has gone beyond reason. I assure you that I wanted to be frank with you, because I respect you. And I think that someone who tells an unpleasant truth is much safer than someone who says what people want to hear. There are real enemies in Ukraine, and it's definitely not me," the comedian added.
