The oldest candidate this year is 87 years old, and the youngest is 5 years old. There are also students from Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and other countries. Among the candidates, Pingtung County Li Mingzheng Junior High School has 159 applicants this year, which is 1/3 of the school's number in a single academic year.
Yin Jiating, Section Chief of the Department of Lifelong Education of the Ministry of Education, explained that the Ministry of Education has expanded the Hokkien Language Proficiency Certification Examination starting this year, holding it twice a year. The A paper test (including A1 basic level and A2 primary level) will be conducted today, and the B paper test (including B1 intermediate level and B2 intermediate and advanced level) will be conducted tomorrow (5th).
