The President of the Czech Republic,

Petr Pavel,

advocates the provision of Western fighter jets to Ukraine.

However, in half a year or later, when specialists will be trained.

The newly elected Czech leader told Die Zeit.

"In the long term, fighter jets should also be delivered to Ukraine. But this should happen only in half a year or later," Pyotr Pavel emphasized.

According to him, the transfer of aircraft requires training of specialists, flight and ground personnel, logistics, and ground security.

At the same time, Pavel emphasizes that equipment is important for Ukrainian troops to be able to stop the Russian offensive.

It will be recalled that on February 24, US President 

Joe Biden ruled out the possibility of handing over

 American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, saying that they are "not needed now".

Meanwhile, the chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the US House of Representatives, Michael McCaul, believes that 

F-16s may appear in Ukraine at a "decisive and turning point" of the war.
