The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan released information about the reception of the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to the information given to APA by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the information says:

"The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The one-on-one meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister Sergey Lavrov continued with the participation of the delegations of both sides.

Current issues of the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as the current situation in the region, were discussed at the extensive meeting.

Between Azerbaijan and Russia there are various fields, including political, economic, trade, transport, transit, cultural, humanitarian, education, etc.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who spoke about the existence of an effective cooperation agenda in the fields, noted the importance of the current political dialogue and mutual visits between the two countries in the development of relations.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other party in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the implementation of the tripartite declarations signed in the direction of establishing peace and security in the region, and about the peace and construction efforts of Azerbaijan. He said that he was faced with provocations that harmed the constructive position, including the peace agenda.

As another example of the violation of the provisions of the Tripartite Declaration dated November 10, 2020 by Armenia, it was once again brought to attention that the cases of abuse of the Lachin road, which was intended to be used only for humanitarian purposes, caused the rightful protest of the civil society of Azerbaijan.

Despite the continuous provocations of the Armenian side, it was stated that Azerbaijan will spare no effort to advance the peace agenda, as there are no negative humanitarian consequences of the said protest action.

Minister Sergey Lavrov recalled that this year's official visit coincides with the first anniversary of the signing of the Declaration on mutual cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, which was signed on February 22 last year and had a significant role in the development of relations between our countries.

In this regard, the importance of the existing contract-legal framework in the development of existing relations between the two countries in various fields was noted.

In order to ensure peace and stability in the South Caucasus, the importance of fulfilling the obligations arising from the Tripartite Statement dated November 10, 2020 and the agreements reached between the leaders was emphasized.

Later, at the press briefing held, the ministers made statements on the results of the meeting and answered the questions of journalists.
