[Reporter Lu Yixuan/Taipei Report] Russian soprano Anna Netrebko (Anna Netrebko) will hold a concert in Taiwan, causing dissatisfaction and boycott by Ukrainians in Taiwan.

Alex Khomenko, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Front in Taiwan, said in an interview that the organizers may not know her history. This arrangement cannot be said to be malicious, but for Ukrainians, the so-called "statement" is not enough "Her appearance brought us the same feelings as the Chinese who supported the military reunification of Taiwan and performed in Taiwan would give Taiwanese people the same feeling."

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) invited Netribuko to perform in Taiwan, and is scheduled to perform "Powerchip Century Bel Canto Series - NSO "Homage to the Goddess" opera selection night" at the Taipei National Concert Hall on March 5 at 7:00 pm.

Netribko spoke in support of his homeland at the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, and later condemned the war.

Olek Shyn, a Korean-Ukrainian in Taiwan, expressed his dismay on Twitter, "Putin's friend and invasion defender can freely come to Taiwan, perform and make money, while the death machine she has endorsed and actively helped, Keep killing Ukrainian people".

The Ukrainian community in Taiwan launched a boycott and made a lazy bag, detailing Netribko’s pro-Russian deeds; Netribko is a long-term supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and once wore a dress that read " Going to Berlin" top with a St. George ribbon symbolizing support for the Russian military.

Netribko even took a photo with Oleg Tsaryov, one of the leaders and flag of the "New Russian Federation" formed by militants after the invasion of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian community bluntly stated that Netribko’s friendship with Putin is unquestionable. She has been reluctant to make a statement of condemnation of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and her position is vacillating. Unlike other artists, she can ignore Clearly condemn Russia for its own safety.

Netribuko later apologized, but it sounded hollow and insincere.

He Manke stated that he "categorically condemns giving Netribuko a performance platform and an opportunity to make money in Taiwan".

The organizers may not know her history, and this arrangement cannot be said to be malicious, but for the Ukrainians, "her appearance brings us the same feelings as the Chinese who support the military reunification of Taiwan. Taiwanese feel the same way."

He Manke appealed that Taiwan's National Symphony Orchestra and Taiwan's National Concert Hall should not have any links with those who support Putin's genocidal and expansionist wars, hoping to cancel this performance, "because Taiwan has been involved since day one. Support Ukraine, please boycott Netribko's performance at Taiwan National Concert Hall!"

Ukrainian Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko issued a sanction list at the end of last year, which included Netribko's performances in Europe and the United States despite his apology.
