On February 28, 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov met with the head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Ramesh Rajasingham, within the framework of his participation in the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

During the meeting, the prospects of the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, including the post-conflict situation in the region, as well as issues around the Lachin road were discussed.

Referring with satisfaction to the active activity of Azerbaijan in the field of humanitarian aid, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov said that Azerbaijan sent humanitarian aid to many developing countries during the COVID-19 pandemic, including in the post-pandemic period.

Also, the activity of the International Development Assistance Agency operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in providing international humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan was noted.

Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov informed the other side about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, including the peace and construction efforts of Azerbaijan in the region. He pointed out that the claims of "crisis" do not reflect the truth.

Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov said that the mode of movement of citizens, vehicles and cargo from Lachin road remains unchanged.

During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also exchanged.
