Within March, payments will be made to 962 entitled persons with disabilities, the acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov announced at a press conference

Lazar Lazarov was born on March 18, 1970 in Sofia.

He graduated from UNSS, major.

In response to a question about the expired TELK decisions, he said that after the payment is made, information about the resource will be provided, BTA reports.

According to the minister, the disability pensions in question are "unevenly distributed" on the territory of the country, with a significant part being in the Stara Zagora region.

Within the framework of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Persons with Disabilities, a mechanism with two hypotheses is foreseen.

In one case, if the person has submitted documents for re-certification within the preceding three-month period before the expiry of the validity of the TELK decision, but due to independent circumstances the procedure has not been completed, then the term of the existing expert medical decision is extended and the person has the right to receive the relevant payments.

With the other - in closed cases, when the person has submitted documents and his procedure has not ended, the payment is resumed, comments Lazarov.

Lazarov believes that dissatisfaction was deliberately planted, that there is a delay in the payment of pensions for TELK.

There was no delay because the law entered into force on January 29, from then on there is a 20-day period in which the regional medical expertise files must provide information to the relevant institutions about the entitled persons, the minister explained.

Lazarov informed that, together with the Ministry of Health, actions will be taken to improve the way medical expertise functions.

He said that efforts will be focused mostly on the use of the electronic health record and implementation to avoid congestion before the relevant regional expert committees.

The aim is that within the three-month period the persons can be re-certified, the minister stressed.
