At the age of 72, the Russian political technologist Gleb Pavlovsky, who in the 2000s was an adviser to

Putin

, and in 2004 participated in the presidential campaign of Viktor Yanukovych, died.

The political scientist's death was reported by his friend, the head of the department of local self-government of the National Research University of the Russian Federation, the Higher School of Economics, Simon Kordonskyi, Russian mass media write.

The cause of death is currently unknown.

Hleb Pavlovsky was born in Odessa on March 5, 1951. Pavlovsky is the founder of the Effective Policy Foundation.

He was known as a key Kremlin political technologist during the first terms of President Vladimir Putin.

His foundation developed Putin's first election campaign.

In 2000-2011, he was an adviser to Putin, an ideologue of the first phase of Putinism.

In 2004, at the head of a group of Moscow political technologists, he came to Kyiv and actively interfered in Ukrainian domestic politics and presidential elections in favor of Viktor Yanukovych.

Pavlovsky was the deputy chairman of the board of the Kommersant publishing house and worked in a number of other mass media.

The mass media called Pavlovsky "the main political technologist of the Kremlin", "Putin's ideologue", until in 2012 he switched to opposition to the current Russian government.
