Russia will not be able to repeat the "Syrian scenario" in Ukraine.
The aggressor country could not carry out such airstrikes a year ago, and today it does not have such an opportunity either.
This opinion was expressed by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat in the article "RBK-Ukraine".
Russia continues to accumulate planes and helicopters near the border with Ukraine.
The aggressor can also prepare an air campaign to support a ground offensive.
The occupiers already tried to use "Syrian tactics" in February and March last year, trying to destroy our air defense in this way.
Then enemy planes flew into the airspace of Ukraine and bombarded the northern regions.
However, the implementation of the plan was hindered by the huge losses of the Russian aviation.
"Since that time, the adversary has been firing missiles at Ukraine using strategic aircraft hundreds of kilometers from our borders or from the waters of the Sea of Azov, which is also not within the range of our air defense systems," Ignat said.
The aggressor could not carry out such airstrikes as in Syria a year ago and even more so will not be able to now, says Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
During this time, Ukrainian air defense has strengthened both quantitatively and qualitatively.
If the Russians decide to fly deep into our country again, their planes will be an even more accessible target for our complexes than cruise missiles or Shaheds.
"They can start to use front-line aviation more actively, but there are also a lot of people with MANPADS, an increase in the number of aircraft will lead to an increase in losses. They can increase the intensity on the front line - if the infantry is active, then a lot of air support will be needed. And deep into Ukraine they are unlikely to fly - the Russian aviation will simply be destroyed," said the Air Force spokesman.
It should be noted that
the Armed Forces of Ukraine
will be able to launch a counteroffensive already in the spring.
The specific time depends, in particular, on the supply of Western weapons.
At the same time, the General Staff announced the discovery
of two Russian DRGs in Kharkiv Oblast.
According to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), in this way, the Russian troops are probably trying to increase the pace of offensive actions in the Kupyansk-Lyman area.
