Distribute these cups to drivers, passers-by and paan shop operators under 'No Thu-Thu campaign'

Indore :

Paan-gutkha is spoiling not only the health of the people but also the cities.

Even the cleanest city of the country has not remained untouched by this.

In the National Cleanliness Survey, for the last six years in Sirmaur, Indore city, despite lakhs of persuasions by the local administration, the evil tendency of people spitting paan-gutkha in public places is not being stopped.

In view of this, from Friday, the administration started a campaign to distribute eco-friendly cups free of cost to the people, in which they can spit.

Meanwhile, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava was seen distributing these cups to motorists, passers-by and paan shop operators at the city's busy Bengali intersection as part of the 'No Thu-Thu campaign'.

Bhargava said, "We want the people of the city to change their habit of spitting in public places. For this, we are providing special cups free of cost to the people, so that they have the option of spitting here and there."

This cup has been prepared by local start-up "Ek Pahal".

Dr. Atul Kala, co-founder of the start-up and an oral surgeon by profession, told that the cup prepared with special chemicals converts paan-gutkha's peak or any liquid coming out of the mouth into solid waste.

He told that in such a cup one can spit 30 times and it can hold 240 ml of liquid coming out of the mouth.

Let us inform that the local administration has been trying for a long time that people should desist from spitting in public places.

In order to convey the message of cleanliness to the residents of the city, the mayor and other public representatives were seen cleaning the red spots of paan-gutkha peak from the road dividers last December.
